Te Kaunihera Tapuhi o Aotearoa/Nursing Council of New Zealand is a regulatory authority that is responsible for the registration of nurses to ensure that the health and safety of people is protected, and nurses are fit to practice their profession. Are you a passionate advocate for nursing excellence in Aotearoa? The Nursing Council invites you to become a pivotal part of our team to achieve this goal as Kaitohutohu Nēhi Māori. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring nurses are safe and competent to practice.

You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across all facets of fitness to practice, registration and education decisions. Your dedication to foster professional relationships with nurses and Council management staff as well as understand regulatory processes will be instrumental in shaping the future of nursing practice in Aotearoa. We are seeking individuals with a strong commitment to excellence and a Te Tiriti-focussed ethos. Your exceptional internal and external communication skills will be key in promoting best practice and standards within the nursing profession. Proficiency in te reo Māori and a sound understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and te Ao Māori are essential for success in this role.
